Soles for Students - This is a LOCAL charity designed to enable students from our school to receive vouchers from area shoe stores. Please click on the link for the form, complete, and return to HS Office. Applications are also available in the guidance office.

Selective Service - REMINDER TO MALE STUDENTS
You must register with the Selective Service when you turn 18. If you are taking a CCP course here or at a local college, you must register within 30 days of your 18th birthday or you will have to pay for the course and books.
Registering is easy -go to https://www.sss.gov/register 
Make a note of your number in case you need it later.

Free test prep and  practices tests sponsored by the U.S. Army. March 2 Success is free and has 7 timed ACT tests. Anyone may enroll by clicking on the registration button. Students will need to answer a few questions to complete the registration. Registration is valid for 45 days and can be extended. March2Success

College Visits
Students may miss up to four days of school during their high school career for college visits. These days are excused if the following procedure is met.

  1. Bring a note from home to Mrs. Jones stating the date of the visit. 
  2. Ask the college representative for confirmation of attendance.
  3. Upon returning to school the confirmation must be given to the secretary for the visit to be an excused absence.

Fee Waivers
The Guidance Office has fee waivers for ACT, NAIA, NCAA, and college application fees. Students who receive free or reduced-priced lunches are eligible for the waivers. If there are extenuating circumstances and paying fees is a hardship, students may also be eligible.

JOURNEY COLLEGE PLANNING is a FREE resource provided by the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center (SOESC) for families who may need help with understanding the FAFSA, support with scholarships and how to navigate a college/career pathway. STUDENT ATHLETES
 

 To be eligible to participate in NCAA athletics at a Division I or II college, students must pass a required amount NCAA certified classes and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.30 and register with the NCAA Eligibility Center.   

Register on the NCAA Eligibility Center during the junior year of high school at NCAA Eligibility Center.

The list of courses the NCAA has certified are listed in the table below.  Student athletes with a disability may not have to take all these and should see the Guidance Counselor if interested in NCAA DI/DII.

In order to participate in college sports at an NAIA school student athletes must meet two of three criteria:
 

  1. Minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA
  2. Rank in the top 50% of graduating class
  3. Earn a composite score of 18 or higher on the ACT
  4. Register and receive more information at PLAYNAIA
